And hello to a (hopefully) kinder year!
This year hasn’t been easy.
The global pandemic has impacted us all on so many levels.
People have lost loved ones, their livelihoods, and their homes. We’ve been isolating, wearing masks, and loading up on vitamins to keep our immunity up.
Businesses have struggled and many that have been forced to close worry if they’ll have the funds and staff to reopen.
2020 – The Year of Resiliency
BUT, this year has also taught us that we are strong.
That kindness, perseverance and ingenuity can shine when it feels like the world has gone dark.
We’ve seen businesses come up with wonderful ideas to serve their community during this time, and help themselves stay in business.
Food drives, giveaways and front line workers giving their all to help the community.
Life in the Mountains
Since we’ve moved to the mountains, I’ve been blown away by the kindness and compassion of our community.
Everyone waives and people stop to chat (at the safe distance).
When we first met our neighbors, they welcomed us and offered tips for mountain life and dealing with the snow.
We never experienced that in Los Angeles before…to have a sense of pride and comradery in your neighborhood.
There’s something about knowing your neighbor’s name, and supporting your local businesses.
Shopping local and keeping our beautiful scenery picked up is something we pride ourselves on.
I hope this sense of community and kindness carries into the new year.
In The Spirit of Giving…
We’re offering a free Website in a Day build to a business owner who could truly use it.
If you know someone who has struggled this year, and has either been working to get their business online, or is in need of a redesign, fill out the form here and tell us about them!
We will pick a business in the new year from these submissions, and will award a free Website in a Day build!
Cheers to a Better Year!
There’s something about putting your intentions in writing, so as we wrap this post up, here are our hopes for the new year:
More kindness & sense of community
Help for businesses impacted by Covid
Assistance for job seekers & those who lost their homes
Good health & recognition for front line workers
Keep our environment clean & leave no trace
A profitable year!
