Launching this year (2022)
We always enjoy attending Wix's live partner meetings, and are excited to share some of the features that will be rolling out this year to the Wix Editor.
*It will be rolled out to previously built sites (not just new sites).
Quick Reminder: the Wix Editor is different from Editor X. To learn more about the differences and our take on Editor X, click here.
Font & Color Kits
Customize the look and feel of your site within the new site design panel.
Consistency is super important when designing your website, so these font & color themes are a great way to make sure you're not accidentally introducing a new font or color.
Having too many fonts (more than 3) on your website can impact your site's load speed, so make use of this, and stay consistent.
Introducing Sections
Horizontal, full-width sections, which are the building blocks that will divide the page into segments. This will allow you to arrange content within the page.
Sections work the same on mobile as they do on desktop, and will make your life a lot easier if you ever want to move sections up or down on your page.
Sections on Stage
Interact with the new section to reorder, duplicate, remove or link to different parts of the page.
Add Section
Add blank and pre-set blocks of content to build pages more easily. This is especially handy for when you want to repeat a section on another page of your website.
Don't be afraid to repeat sections to better guide a visitor to take a next step, or learn more. Blog feeds, bookings, and trust sections are good examples of content you can repeat to minimize additional clicks and provide a better user experience.
Alternative Design Sections
See alternative layouts available for your specific content. If you're feeling stuck on what layout to use, this will be helpful, as it gives you a nice preview of other options.
These sections can also be used as a starting point if you want to make further modifications. Save time by using existing assets and modify as needed.
That's all for now, but stay tuned for more updates on Wix!
