1. Dive into social media

These days, everything starts with social media. But seriously, give your fans on Facebook or Twitter an exclusive first peak at goodies to come for the holiday season. Or, get into the holiday spirit and increase user interaction by holding a contest, and make it fun! Maybe you can hold a “turkey drawing” contest, whoever draws the best turkey (perhaps you can make it themed for your company), gets a freebie or gift certificate.

Considering that during the holidays, key words in searches are modified, change or add keywords to match what your visitors will be looking for. Volusion recommends that you include words like “Black Friday” “gifts for her” and “Cyber Monday”  in your keywords. These are some popular terms that are searched for around this time, so make sure you’re creating relevant content!

4. Keep workers in the loop!

In recent years, many Cyber Monday purchases were made on work computers. Make sure to send emails and social media updates during standard business hours in order to allow everyday busy bees to make a purchase from their work place!

 

5. Send out your email blasts/newsletters early

Don’t leave your newsletters for the last minute! According to Volusion, 83% of consumers prefer to shop online than in overly crowded department stores. Considering that statistic, you want to give your readers roughly 2 weeks notice as to what sales and promotions will be going on on Black Friday.
