Border7 Website Launch

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008

Our to-do list at the beginning of the year  was small, but that was because we knew the amount of time needed to complete each task. Our goals were published on the blog back at the beginning of the year and I’m excited to be able to do this.

  • Finally finish our website! Granted, working for clients is a lot better than getting our site done, but eventually our own site would be nice to have.
  • Redesign and FINALIZE the site plan. We keep coming up with new ideas which postpone its completion.
  • Come up with a few offerings beyond web & graphic design

It feels awesome to have all our goals completed. The first goal took the longest but it was the most fun. Right now, we have so many little quirks on the website that it feels very much like us. There is amazing artwork, we have informative content, and we also have a guitar hero playing Oog hidden within. There are so many little details to the website that we are just excited about. We still have a few more things that we’ll be doing in the next month to complete it, but the fact that we can take down the under construction splash page down.

Privacy Policies

Thursday, July 10th, 2008

In light of the whole Google and YouTube issues, we have been working hard to try and get our Privacy Policy together. I wanted to do a rough draft and ask for any feedback you have

Border7 is committed to the privacy of its clients, potential clients, and all visitors in general. To ensure the security and safety of the information we collect, we have the following guidelines in place:

In general, we store information on our company databases for contact purposes. Only Border7 employees will have access to it. Should Border7 ever need to hire contractors who will need to access this information, they will sign a Non Disclosure agreement beforehand which also includes that they will comply with this Privacy Policy.

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us at admin@border7.com

It seems really short. Should more information should be included? What are your thoughts? Do you think I missed anything?

The Awesomeness that is Word of Mouth

Monday, June 16th, 2008

Duct Tape Marketing just posted about the book “How to Demonstrate Word of Mouth” and Dave Balter of BuzzAgent. We just got a copy of the PDF and are going to be buying a copy from Amazon.

It was really good timing because yesterday during a staff meeting we were discussing some Marketing techniques that we should employ to help get our business, and all our side projects out there.

One technique that we currently use is a referral bonus for our existing clients. For each new client they refer to us that results in a project, we give our client a coupon for 20% of the project total. Some people may think this crazy, but its a cheap way to drive new business. Not only are you getting a new client, but your giving your old clients a reason to use you again.

We’re going to read this and see if we can get more ideas. What techniques do you use to drive word of mouth?
