Border7 Website Launch

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008

Our to-do list at the beginning of the year  was small, but that was because we knew the amount of time needed to complete each task. Our goals were published on the blog back at the beginning of the year and I’m excited to be able to do this.

  • Finally finish our website! Granted, working for clients is a lot better than getting our site done, but eventually our own site would be nice to have.
  • Redesign and FINALIZE the site plan. We keep coming up with new ideas which postpone its completion.
  • Come up with a few offerings beyond web & graphic design

It feels awesome to have all our goals completed. The first goal took the longest but it was the most fun. Right now, we have so many little quirks on the website that it feels very much like us. There is amazing artwork, we have informative content, and we also have a guitar hero playing Oog hidden within. There are so many little details to the website that we are just excited about. We still have a few more things that we’ll be doing in the next month to complete it, but the fact that we can take down the under construction splash page down.

What are your favorite parts?

Border7’s Batcave

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

I just wanted to introduce the Batman Caveman. He is the little guy who sits on the bottom left of my screen while I work during the day. We created a “batcave” that is basically our internal system and just helps us remember links to all the online applications we use. Anyway, we’re taking nominations for a name. I already put in Bruce and Yasmine said to call him Wayne. Be creative!

Fun Loving and Representing Design

Thursday, May 22nd, 2008

Border7 is a young budding company. We view design as play time almost and we love what we do. We finally came up with a design that we really love and feel represents us fully. We have taken the site down while we continue making all the pages and ensuring it works properly. But you can get a taste of it with the new blog design and the splash page.

Border7 is Hiring

Monday, May 5th, 2008

Border7 has been growing a steady client base and are getting a little too much to handle. Our plate is over full and we need some helping hands to assist.

We’re hiring for the following positions:

  • Web Designer [x2]
  • Web Developer [x1]
  • Copywriter [x2]
  • Marketing Assistant [x1]

Just so you know, we are going to look at your credentials, but we also want to ensure your a fit for our company. We are geeks who love what we do and like to hang out. Most of us who work at Border7 are friends IRL (if you don’t know what that means - need not apply), so be prepared to be friendly.

Facebook’s (not really true) Privacy Policy

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

I love the writing style of Wired, and their article “How Facebook Exposed Us All as Freaks” made me realize that our privacy policy has not been completely established yet. Sadly, Facebook’s privacy policy did not prevent their tracking system to monitor our purchasing history with other websites (thankfully I never really got into Facebook). Like it says, the damage is done and now we must “love the dumpty” and lose the Gorilla Mask.
