Fun Loving and Representing Design

Thursday, May 22nd, 2008

Border7 is a young budding company. We view design as play time almost and we love what we do. We finally came up with a design that we really love and feel represents us fully. We have taken the site down while we continue making all the pages and ensuring it works properly. But you can get a taste of it with the new blog design and the splash page.

Top 3 Reasons to be a Celtics Fan

Monday, May 19th, 2008

The Celtics are going to win the NBA finals. Granted, it will be against the Lakers, but this just means it will be one helluva show. So, first off, just so you are all aware, when living in the Los Angeles area, you are not allowed to say you are a fan of anyone other than the Lakers. You cannot even say you are a Clippers fan, because then people will think you’re a liar and full of crap. The Lakers are meant to be the connection of all Los Angelians and no one crosses that - except me (and a handful of other true devout NBA fans).

Reason #1 They’re a real basketball team.

The Celtics are a true team. Each player plays their heart out to win, not to be the shining star. They have the true team dynamic that makes a basketball game fun to watch.

Reason #2 They have THREE stars on their team, and they all get along.

Paul Pierce. Ray Allen. Kevin Garnett. All three athletes are considered NBA superstars. Most NBA teams can only handle ONE and still win. The Celtics have three of the most team focused players on the same team and that just makes me giddy inside.

Reason #3 They’re an amazing team!

They will outplay the Lakers easily. The Lakers are mainly Kobe Bryant. I can see him beating JUST Garnett, or JUST Pierce, or JUST Allen. Hell, maybe he could beat JUST two of them. But put all three of them and then the AMAZING supporting cast that the Cetlics have, it just won’t happen.

Needless to say, I’m excited for the Finals and what’s to come. I want it to be a shutout just because I don’t really like the Lakers at all, but I do know that both teams will give us a show.

The (dis)advantage of Sleep Deprivation

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

I have been trying to stop being a workaholic. Somewhat successful. And I will admit I use to gloat about the amount of sleep I’ve missed. But lately I’ve been scheduling in some sleep time. Now, I will have to admit, when I don’t catch up on my z’s, I get a lot of work done. But then when the crash comes I’m out for the count. I have to decommission myself from everything for a few days where I just over sleep because my body is just lashing out on me. A few other reasons why not sleeping are bad are:

Stubbornness - I just keep treking. I don’t care what it is I am doing, or how I am doing it. I just want it done. Not the best mentality on a lot of business projects.

Creativity is Null - When posed with a problem, I am less likely to have as many ways to resolve it effectively and efficiently. When I’m tired, I’m happy if I get ONE idea, and I just go with that (see stubbornness).

Lack of Morale - So sleepy….I have to do something, but I don’t want to put in effort. I will write about 4 easy, no research required, blog posts in the course of the hour. I’ll mess with the online apps that Border7 uses. I’ll do mind numbing research; always avoiding the actual work that is needed.

Meanie - I am mean, irritable, and just a terrible bitch when its been a few days of little to no sleep. My already short fuses are cut even shorter and its easier to set me off.

So, with that, I’m going to go to sleep.
